On Wednesday the 23/7/08 it was the first time the advansed workshop got together to rehearse 5 new songs at the Hevery Bay Musicians Hall. On Firday the 25/7/08 it was the last time at the Hevery Bay Musician Hall. We spent heaps of time rehearsing all 5 songs.
We only had one problem and it was if we were going to play Secert Agent Man because it was a very hard song to play but we were going to play it. On Monday the 28/7/08 we went to the Baptist Hall were the beginner people were there with us for the final rehearse. On the same night we had the concert were the beginner band played 5 songs first and the advanced band played 5 songs last and the concert went from 7.00pm to 8.00pm and everyone loved it.
The Winter Carnival is a competitive sports carnival where teams from Maryborough, Bundaberg, Gympie, North Burnett, South Burnett and Hervey Bay come together for a two day competition. It was held on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd of May.
There were many sports that played on these days, including Netball, Soccer, Rugby League and Tennis.
I was involved in Netball as part of the Hervey Bay team. Our uniform was a blue top and blue shorts with red trim . Everyone thought we were basket ballers because we were the only ones wearing shorts.
On Thursday we played five 24 minute games and Friday were the finals. On Friday afternoon there were selections for the Wide Bay team which would be traveling to Cairns later this year. I thought it was an exciting and enjoyable day. It was also very nerve racking but it was worth it in the end.
In term 3, Yarrilee State School held their annual athletics carnival on Thursday 17th July. The carnival ran throughout the day with events such as the Obstacle Course Race, 200 metre sprints, Tug of War and 100 metre sprints.
At the end of the day there was presentations of age champions for each age group, a trophy awarded to the winning house team, which was Water, and 2 people were added to the Hodge Shield. The Hodge Shield in an award of sportsmanship, participation and fairness that is awarded to one girl and one boy. I was lucky enough to be 1 of 2 winners this year of the Hodge Shield.
I felt that this day went extremely well and was lots of fun.
Towards the beginning of this year, SNG Learning Group entered the Inspired Digital Story Competition, which is run by the Australian Teachers Magazine to find the best and most creative uses of technology in teaching.
There are two prizes up for grabs. First place prize is a digital photo frame, and second place prize is free attendance at an education.au conference in 2008.
Our entry in the competition was a video podcast about what we like and enjoy the most about podcasting. We were lucky enough to win first place and be a new owner of a digital photo frame.
> happened in the 2nd week of school in term one 2008.
Camp is when you go away and do activities. You don’t go back home to sleep. It is like sleeping out bush in cabins or tents. We had some cabins to sleep in. We had activities to do like the gum tree challenge is when you climb up to the top a height with a harness.
We also went roller skating at night in Brisbane. Then we went to Wet and Wild near the Gold Coast .
Camp was superb. It was really a fun camp and I wish it could happen again. If you ever come across a year 7 camp go to it because you will have lots of fun guaranteed.De nos jours, les jeux de компютри втора употребаcasino ont une tr?s grande c?l?brit? dans le monde entier.
Inter school sports!
This is held on Fridays afternoons only at the end of term1 and term3.Our sports are Netball, Rugby, touch football, girls soccer, boys soccer and hockey at our local grounds.
We play in the sport grounds against different schools in Hervey Bay
I think this is a great idea because we get the opportunity or the chance to have fun and play against different schools and play sport for a few hours of our school time.
Zone trials!
Zone trials is a great opportunity to get selected for what you do best at in sport. You get to have fun in some sports which you get to meet new people.
Zone is a great place to support your school and cheer for them and as well it is good to support yourself and do your best while people from your school cheer you on.
Coming up in term two our school is holding a drawing competition with lots of great prizes up for grabs .
At the start of term two our drawing competition will be held, any one from prep to year 7 can enter. the rules are quite simple you must draw a picture free hand on a plain peace of A4 paper and the judges will decide who wins.
We have organised several judges for each age group Jody Nearny and Ryan Hamlet will be judging the preps and grade one although I am unsure on the others at the present time.
Our drawing competition should hopefully be a success and raise some money for our school. I can’t wait to judge the preps and even enter one for myself.
Camp was held in week 2 in the 1st term of school.
The camp was at camp Warrawee. When we got there we had lunch. After lunch we went to to our cabins and we unpacked. We split up into our classes and did 2 activities. These activities include low ropes gum tree challenge canoing and a flying fox. Then we had dinner and then we headed for roller skating. Which was lots of fun. The next day we went to wet and wild. which was loads of fun. The next day we went home.
